Everything you need to know about DIM • Who We Are

DIM ALL THE WAY

In the early 1960s, 'Bas Dimanche' (Sunday Hosiery) became 'DIM', a brand name that’s more striking and easier to remember.

Who We Are

ORIGIN

DIM's history began in the 1960s with a simple idea: to liberate women's bodies through bold innovation. In 1965, the brand shook up the market with the launch of seamless stockings — a move that was an instant success and marked its entry into the lingerie world. "Back then, women mainly dressed up on Sundays. My father probably thought Sunday was a fitting name and that wearing stockings daily should be as joyful as wearing your best clothes on a Sunday."

— Daniel Giberstein, son of Bernard Giberstein.

Who We Are

VISION

Beyond innovation: a brand ahead of its time. For decades, the brand has sought to respond to and anticipate the needs of its consumers. How? By listening to the times, understanding the cultural climate and creating products that always reflect women's lifestyles.

— Claire Mabrut, author of DIM: 50 Years of Fashion and Freedom

Who We Are

EMANCIPATION

With the launch of its tights, DIM established itself as a fashion pioneer, capturing the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s while accompanying the miniskirt revolution. Tights became much more than just an accessory; they became a symbol of female freedom and empowerment. Rather than just following trends, DIM was part of a real cultural transformation, making tights the emblem of the new female body and changing attitudes.

Who We Are

ICONOCITY

With its famous ‘ta la ta ta ta’ jingle by Lalo Schifrin, DIM has made a lasting impression and secured its place in popular culture. The brand stands out for its bold campaigns, which combine humour and creativity with collaborations with leading designers, fully reflecting its unique spirit. These visionary statements are more than just communication; they are part of an iconic heritage, combining revolutionary visuals and innovations that have shaped DIM's history.
